| John Roache has been involved with Just Another Sports Show since September of 2003. Growing up in Long Island, New York with a father who lived in the shadows of Brooklyn's Ebbets Field, he became a huge sports fan, falling madly in love with the Amazing Mets. He began his broadcasting career in the late 1960's, alongside many broadcasting legends, working Mets games with Murphy, Kiner, and Nelson, Knicks games with Marv Albert, and Giants games with Marty Glickman, all from his basement, often switching between play-by-play and color analysis with his brother and various sidekicks. His more formal career began at WUVA-FM in Charlottesville, Virginia, as a disc jockey, where he worked for 4 years, rising to the position of station president. A resident of Reston, Virginia since 1992, he is the font of all sports knowledge at the American Tap Room in Reston Town Center. He lives with his 2 children, a stuffed piranha, and an autographed photo of his hero, Tom Seaver. |
